Assistant Gardener
"The New York Restoration Project (NYRP) is a nonprofit dedicated to revitalizing and developing under-resourced parks, community gardens and open space throughout New York City through neighborhood beautification, cleaning and greening within and outside the boundaries of the parks and gardens we maintain. NYRP works with volunteers in densely populated and economically disadvantaged neighborhoods citywide bringing resources necessary to develop and maintain public parks and community gardens as vital centers of neighborhood life. New York Restoration Project's Assistant Gardener is responsible for assisting with the implementation and maintenance of native restoration and ornamental gardening projects in public parkland, in NYRP owned community gardens and participating in tree planting projects throughout New York City."

Weather Anchor
"WRNN-TV in Rye Brook, NY is searching for a freelance Weather Anchor for our daily afternoon news program. Individual should have a strong knowledge of meteorology and good reporting skills. Should be able to prepare the forecast, utilizing the weather computer system; interpret computer generated data, read maps and animation to produce a compelling weathercast. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: Excellent writing skills and interpersonal skills. Strong on-camera skills with the ability to read narration effectively and ability to work under time pressure deadlines. Strong computer skills a flexible schedule. REQUIRED EDUCATION: Preferred college degree in journalism, communications or related field."

Voter Registration Workers
"The Public Policy and Education Fund of New York (PPEF) is the not-for-profit research and public education affiliate of Citizen Action of New York. PPEF was founded in 1986 to address critical social, economic, racial and environmental issues facing low and moderate income New York State residents. Areas of concern have included health care, education, afterschool programs, voter participation, economic development and consumer issues. PPEF uses many tools in its work, including grassroots organizing, research and policy development, public education on a wide range of policy issues and community outreach. We are seeking site canvassers to register voters. Training will be provided. Limited Term Employment...Spanish/English bilingual speakers are highly encouraged to apply...Compensation: $10 to 15."

Fire Recovery Assistant
"The Fire Recovery Assistant supports the Fire Recovery Coordinator as the on-site facilitator for VSD's fire recovery projects. The Assistant will purchase supplies, maintain project schedules, run errands, make phone calls, complete clerical tasks and act as a Point-of-Contact for fire recovery projects. As required by the Coordinator, Assistant will organize and implement event logistics, as well as work with community groups...Successful job performance could depend upon the applicant's ability to perform the following tasks and under the following conditions.
